The Centre for legitimacy and rule of law (CLRL) joined other allied organizations, the Institute for Liberty and Policy Innovations (ILAPI) and the LOVE aid foundation to organize a one day Inheritance Clinic at Ho on Thursday the 10th day of September 2026.

The event exposed and highlighted challenges that Ghanaians encounter when their loved ones die and they seek to have access to properties including funds in Banks, homes and others.
Participants included traditional leaders, students, business people, professionals, police officers, fire officers as well as many citizens who wanted to understand the inheritance challenge and the solutions that are available.

The distinguished guest speaker, Andrew Dodzi Adugu ESQ, a senior state attorney with the office of the Attorney General and ministry of Justice, underscored the need for citizens to access the laws on inheritance and acquaint themselves with its provisions in order to make it easier for them to have access to properties of the loved ones when death occurs.

During the panel discussions, representatives of the Birth and Deaths registry, the Ghana Revenue Authority, Social Security and National insurance Trust (SSNIT) highlighted their procedures and how they assist persons to easily have access to their inheritance.

Two Lawyers from CLRL, Michael Kwabla research fellow, and Richard Nii Amarh Director of Legal, took turns to educate participants on court procedures and the steps that need to be taken in order to be able to have access to inheritance when a loved one dies.
At the end of the forum, members of the public were given the opportunity to interact with the lawyers and representatives of the various organizations in order to gain tailored advice to their various challenges and questions.

The Centre for legitimacy and rule of law (CLRL) is a non-governmental, non-political, civil service organization committed to promoting justice and rule of law. We shall not relent on our mission to pursue activities and causes that will deepen justice and rule of law.
